ICEEI 2007 and R&R

Bismillah,

Well finally ICEEI 2007 has ended. ICEEI is an acronym International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Informatics. Next conference will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2009.

I actually didn't attend the conference fully because I had to finish my research proposal which was due on 19th June. Well after a long journey and fierceful effort we had finished our proposal, and now we're waiting for the acceptance. I have no idea on when accepted papers would be published but we have to wait for a while.

O ... back to the story I would like to write.

This international conference was also sponsored by Univertisi Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Most of the participants were Malaysians and some of them were females, Japan, German, and of course ... Indonesia were also participated.

As for my friend however ... well, he got to know some of the females from Malaysia he3x. -You know, boys will be boys :P-, me too. I met and introduced myself to some of them as well like Nur Idawati, Kamilia Kamardin, Siti Mahfuzoh binti Wasikon, Noraida binti Ismail, and Dareena Syahida Suib. All of them had their own papers and presented their topics during poster session. But one topic that attracted my attention was about UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) posted by Widyawardana Adiprawita, MT. Right now I am also involved in Aeronautical Engineering project on establishing universal precision landing system and aerial disaster recovery Information System.

The conference itself was closed by Dean of STEI-ITB (School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics) Prof. Dr. Adang S. Ahmad precisely on 0400. After about an hour of cleaning the East-West exhibition hall, we went to the lab to recover ourself from the exhaustion of having involved in the conference for about an hour or so. After browsed on the net for some informations regarding my Ph.D and listening to music by streaming I decided to go home.

But ...

Along the way walking to the parking lot, me and Arinuddin Umar had an idea on taking the 3 of those we've met for sight seeing of Bandung although it would take only one night. So after Maghrib Ari called Ms Noraida to ask her agreement on having a slight tour of Bandung, and she agreed :) so be it! 3 of them we took around for S&S were Noraida, Siti, and Dareena. First of our tour was Great Masjid of Bandung located in Southern Bandung, they took some pictures there as well. After there, we traveled to Braga Citywalk. Dareena decided to buy blankon .. a traditional Sundanese headwear as a souvenir to her family and friends.

Last of our trip was to Warung Lela located in Northern Bandung. All of our guests were amazed to see how beautiful it was topside view of Bandung. Noraida, Siti ordered a steamed chicken rice, while Dareena ordered Yahun rica-rica. While we were eating we talked a lot of things aside engineering stuffs, more to chatting. Siti surprised to hear me talking in Malay accent, Noraida exposed the Malaysian cultural traditions, Dareena explained to me who is Wan Zaleha Radzi. So after taking pictures on me and our guests we took them back to their hotel. As a token of our friendship Ari gave a present to them and in return Noraida exchanged a sheet of 1 Ringgit, that money may not be used Noraida told us by the time we meet again someday that money serial number MUST be the same, he3x.

Today morning they've gone back to Malaysia. I intent to meet them at the airport but somehow I was unable to do so because the traffic jam today was absolutely painful. I'm gonna miss our occasion ...

Good bye ICEEI 2007 ... I'm looking forward to submit my paper(s) to ICEEI 2009 later. And to those we took for a slight S&S, take care out there and I hope we meet again soon :)
